Data is leaking from the brands you interact with almost every day. Protecting your identity and hiding from threats online is becoming more important every day. Here's some ways we recommend to stay protected.
Password Managers
Do you reuse the same password everywhere? Worried it's not the most secure? Do you constantly struggle to remember what password goes with what site?
Password managers are the answer. They manage the passwords you have by sites, encourage you to use strong passwords and don't require you to remember them anymore!
Our favorite is 1Password which you can download here https://1password.com/
There's lots of password managers out there - find one and don't forget to use it with Reklaim!
Privacy Browsers & Extensions
Your browser has lots of tools and tricks to help prevent sites from tracking you and from collecting information on your without your knowledge. If only they were the same on all browser and actually turned on. Instead of endless Google searching for how to tweak your browser to actually work for you, here's a few suggestions.
Use a privacy browser - we like Brave https://brave.com/
Use a privacy search engine - we like DuckDuckGo https://duckduckgo.com/
Use privacy extensions in your browser - https://privacybadger.org/
Protect and hide your network
Some sites will attempt to track you using your network information from your internet service provider. This network information is available to every site you visit due to the way the internet functions. However, you can use a tool called a VPN (virtual private network) to make your network look like someone else's or lots of other people's network thus confusing attempts to track you.
There's a lot of VPN services out there but make sure you're using a "no log" provider. This means they don't log your internet traffic and then typically sell it - which defeats the purpose.

Remove your Data from the Web and Brokers
Even if you get serious about privacy now, what about all the data that's already been collected? Get rid of it now and anything that's collected in the future by hiring an agent to monitor your online footprint.

Email tracking
Did you know that brands regularly track you when you read emails they send you? Even if you mark it as spam, the tracking happens as soon as you open the email.
Turn off tracking in email using a pixel blocker. If you're using Gmail you can use this handy browser extension - https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/pixelblock/jmpmfcjnflbcoidlgapblgpgbilinlem
